Back To School
Or maybe I'm just bored.
Regardless, I begin my new student career at SWIC on Tuesday. I'm taking a class on HTML and XHTML, the basic code used to make web pages. If you hadn't noticed, I'm already a novice user. I figure I can take this class and a few more and get my certification in web page design. I then will get my certification in computer networking. At least, that's the plan.
I have been asked why I didn't just go for my master's. My answer: 3 reasons. One: I have NO IDEA what I'd want to get my master's in. Two: I don't want to be one of those people who is overqualified for a job when it comes to educational level, but underqualified when it comes to work experience. Three: OK, I'm just plain lazy. Regardless of my reasoning behind it, I'm not up to getting my master's right now, if ever. It's just not something I'm all that into. I will take EVERY UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL course thrown at me and still refuse to get my mater's. I'm an odd one.
I'm really looking forward to stepping foot inside that classroom and seeing all the lethargic faces, wondering what this old chick in business attire is doing in their classroom. I just hope I don't get mistaken as the prof, at first. I certainly feel old. I'll be a year older on Thursday, so I guess its justified. I just hope I'm not the oldest one. I guess its doubtful, seeming its a night course at a ommunity college. I plan on bringing my laptop, but I have a feeling it will be overkill.
I ordered my text book from the Internet on the 6th, and guess what? It hasn't gotten here yet. I e-mailed the seller, who claims it was mailed way back when, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Damn $50 book better be on my door step tomorrow afternoon, or I may just have to bash the seller with negative eBay feedback. Oh, yes - piss me off and I blast your ass back to the stone age, thanks to my friend the dot com. Not that anyone really cares. I guess, though, that I have to appreciate SIUE for their book rental system. There must have been a 1/2 dozen versions of my textbook available, so I really hope I got the right one. When they update a book, they should probably just change the name or something. Man, I'm lazy.
I went and listed a bunch of crap on eBay today. Actually, the stuff I listed is, surprisingly, not crap. I have a bunch of VCR tapes Mike gave me when he left the apartment that I'm auctioning off. I also have my old Game Boy and 8 games, some books I've never read, and some purses I ordered and decided against. I also listed a bunch of Proactiv stuff that I ordered and ended up not liking all that much. I mean, the stuff wasn't bad - it just wasn't for me. Anyway, my eBay SN is Linzi84, so check out my awesome auctions. Fo' real, yo.
Silly is a bad kitty. A very bad kitty.
